Bengaluru,  : "Education is not just about acquiring degrees; it is about gaining knowledge that no one can take away from us. Knowledge paves the way for success," said the Honorable Governor of Karnataka, Thaawarchand Gehlot, while addressing students at the 9th Convocation of CMR University. The event was held at the auditorium of CMR Group of Institutions in Bengaluru.

In his speech, the Governor emphasized the critical role of education in personal and national development. "Education contributes significantly to success in life. It provides technical and highly skilled knowledge, enhances our ability to express ideas, and strengthens our skills. With the right skills, individuals can achieve great success in their chosen fields," he remarked.

Reflecting on India's rich educational heritage, the Governor highlighted the country's historical reputation as Vishwaguru (world teacher) and its once-thriving economy. "To regain this stature, we must harness the skills, talents, and energy of our youth. Their role is crucial in shaping the nation's future," he stated.

He further underscored the transformative power of educated youth, stating that their contributions drive progress across various sectors, including science, technology, business, arts, and social service. "Today, we live in a digital era where artificial intelligence, data science, and advanced technologies are reshaping the world. To succeed, one must embrace innovation, creativity, and adaptability," he said.

Addressing environmental concerns, the Governor stressed the importance of conservation efforts. "While India has made unprecedented progress and is now the world's fifth-largest economy, environmental imbalance remains a serious challenge. Protecting our water, forests, and air must be a collective priority," he urged.

He also encouraged graduates to be a source of inspiration for future generations and contribute to national development. "Play an active role in public life and participate in building Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat and Swavalambi Bharat," he urged.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, the Governor reminded students of the power of perseverance and dedication. "'Arise, awake, and do not stop until the goal is achieved.' Education is not just about securing jobs but about instilling morality, compassion, and social responsibility. It is a lifelong journey that fosters new ideas, knowledge, and possibilities," he said.

Recognizing Bengaluru as a hub of education and research, the Governor lauded CMR University for its remarkable growth since its establishment in 2013. "CMR University is playing a vital role in developing human resources for a progressive India through its continuous and positive efforts," he noted.
